Can I have a frappicino with a sprinkle of ageism on top, please?

Hello there again, I'm really run down and tired at the moment from recovering from a recent guiding event (which I may or may not blog about in the future, who knows) so I thought I should have a wee chat with you all!

So as I have been going shopping a lot it's been really apparent that the public really don't like teenagers. There seems to be this lingering distrust towards us teenagers and the reason that is retorted back to me is that we do act like hooligans (or whatever people say these days) or we cause raucous around but I don't really see this to be a good enough reason for me or my friends to receive glares if we enter a shop which isn't aimed at our age bracket. I will never forget that time where my tea fanatic friend Nikki and I entered a teashop (which will remain unnamed) and were glared out of the shop by the horrid saleswoman. It seems to be that it doesn't matter how quiet and too just generally awkward people to cause any sort of havoc in the shop!

The worse thing about all these experiences is that they have made me question myself too. Even right now when typing up this blog post I am questioning whether I will be taken seriously and if there is any real point to making this, even though this is something I am finding to be very important. It's not my fault being taught that anything a teenager feels doesn't really matter as my views on things will change. But guess what? My views may and will probably change but they really matter to me now so that means you should respect and listen to them just like I would to you (btw I'm not literally meaning you the reader, you could be the most respectful person in the planet for all I know).

Unfortunately, there are more things I would like to talk on this subject but I will just go on forever and there are still some things I am just not really prepared to talk about (which again I may talk about in the future on this blog). I'd also like to apologise for the fact this is a very onesided post, as I'm afraid I am just one person *gasps* and I don't really discuss the ageism that happens at other age brackets but I'm really willing to read and listen to all your views out there!

Simmering songs never get plain

Satchel -  Robinsons, Cardigan - Matalan

Flower crown - Primark, Necklace - charity shop, Watch - Robinsons

Hello again! So as I said in my last outfit post I'm currently on the hunt for summer clothes and today I pretty bought all the rest I need in town. Fortunately, it was really warm and sunny so I didn't have to wear a mahoosive jacket (woop), but I did need to wear my newly bought sunglasses from Primark as the sun makes me sneeze (yes, I do know that doesn't make sense but what does anyway?). I have to admit, I may or may not have bought a ridiculous amount of clothing, at least that means that there is no shortage of new outfit posts on the way!

Tumblr Tagged

Hello there! I was recently nominated by Ariane from On a Bed of Flowers to do the tumblr tag, which at first I was a bit put off at doing but I thought as I'm so new to the whole blogging thing I'd thought it would be good to do this as a way for you to get to know me better.

1. Post the rules
2. Answer the questions the tagger has sent you through their post and make a set of 11 questions
3. Tag 11 people and link them to your post
4. Let them know you've tagged them.

1. What is your favourite season?
This is so tricky for me, I love to cosy snugglyness of winter, then there is all the new life in nature growing in spring making flowers bloom everywhere, then there is the happy sunshine of summer and then autumn causing all the leaves to slyly fall off the trees to create wondrous scenery. Hmm..I'll say summer because my love for the sun and just general happy time conquers all.

2. If you had a chance to go any place you liked, where would you go?
I'm going to say Iceland or New Zealand. Just look them up on google images and you will understand.

3. What is your favourite movie?
I really don't have a favourite movie due to me being really indecisive but I do have a favourite Disney movie which is Aristocats; It has both cats and singing, what else do you need??

4. Would you rather be the size of a mouse or the size of a giraffe?
Hmm, if I was the size of a mouse I could hide away from people when necessary but people could also easily step on me...I'll have to be a giraffe.

5. What is your favourite memory?
I really don't have one but I have to say seeing Fall Out Boy (my favourite band ever) with Nikki (one of my closest friends ever) is definitely high up on the list of good memories.

6. Would you rather have to cry every time you were happy or smile every time you were serious?
Considering I do a lot of happy crying anyways and I doubt people would think I was serious if I was doing my weird smiling at them I pick crying every time I'm happy.

7. Have you ever won anything? If you have what was it?
No...unless those awards for trying hard in a race in primary counts.

8. What is your favourite song? changes all the time before it was Ole Black 'N' Blue Eyes by The Fratellis but now as I'm getting into Alt-J it has become Breezeblocks

9. Do you have any pets?
I have 1 dog called Jack (short for Captain Jack, the one from Torchwood not the Pirates of the Caribbean) and 3 cats called Bart, Milhouse and Pookie (yes, my family do love the Simpsons and Garfield to no end).

10. What is one thing you always say?
Probably something to do with bagels or potatoes due to my annoying randomness or maybe something like "it gets better" because it's such a true and important saying.

11. How would you describe yourself?
I'm going to take this to be personality wise and not appearance wise. I see myself to be a very introverted person; so much social interaction takes a lot of energy away from me, I work better by myself, I don't really like having small talk and I love big conversations with those who I am close to etc. I'm very much a worrier, which isn't necessarily the worst I guess because it can come in handy but it also is annoying for social situations. I am very strong minded; if I believe in something or care about someone etc., I will try my best to fight for it (even with my quietness).

My questions
1. What do you like best about yourself?
2. What is your favourite social networking site?
3. If you were an animal, what animal would you be?
4. What was the last book you read?
5. What are the most important lessons you have learned in life?
6. What do you wish your future to be like?
7. Do you have any nicknames?
8. If you could change one thing about your school, what would it be?
9. Do you believe in fate?
10. Any strange fears?
11. What kind of music do you enjoy listening to?

So I'm sorta breaking the last rules (but not really) as I'm still super new to blogging, so instead of tagging 11 people, I tag all of you out there. And if you don't have a blog yourself, feel free to answer in the comments!

And we'll swim, knowing rain can't touch us

Hello there! Today was super sunny (well, as I'm typing this it still is super sunny!) and I actually went outside for more than five minutes! I love the sun so much, there is just something about it that makes everyone happy, plus it means getting ice cream from the local ice cream shop. Currently I'm having to buy heaps of summer clothes because I'm going on holiday soon (in exactly a month today) and my wardrobe is very Scottish weather orientated which to be honest is very good news for me as in case you may not have noticed I love clothes quite a bit. Also, when I was taking these photos my wee cat Pookie decided to visit me, so I ended up taking a few photos of him as well...

Stop studying strife and learn to live the unexamined life

Hey there! So yesterday I had a wee celebration for finishing 6 out of the eight exams I have to do for annoyance that is the SQA (Scottish Qualifications Association) and went to see Wicked last night! It was absolutely amazing; the costumes were so bright and colourful, the dancing was out of this world and I don't know how it is physically possible for people to sing so fantastically? Though, admittedly I'm no expert on musicals and all that jazz, but I could still tell it was one amazing show. Somehow Elphaba's tale of being seen to be 'wicked' reminded me of how we build persona's of those who are famous and decide if they or good or bad even though we don't actually know them.

Happy Inspiration

Hello there! So I'm doing a different sort of post today! Well as I've been dealing with the wonders which is exams for the past two weeks (woo to the hoo) and as I kinda have the habits of overkilling with anxieties of the whole time I've been trying to just relax. So here are a few ways of which I use to chill down:

Drinking Tea

Source tumblr
Okay, so I just have a mahoosive love for wintery sorts of things (jumpers, thick socks, hot chocolate) and yes I know tea isn't wintery really but it gives me that calming nostalgia of times when believe it or not Scotland was actually colder than it is now (yes, I can't believe it either). Really any hot drink should work I guess technically then but specifically green tea has been proven to help anxiety! Also, you may want to stay clear from caffeine drinks (coffee, 'normal' tea, fizzy drinks etc.) as it can cause panic attacks, I personally can't have any caffeine because of panic attacks, though I do chance an Irn Bru ('cause patriotism) occasionally.

Listening to music

So during exam time my music taste is kept very mellowed so I listen to more softer songs than my usual taste (well, it is what I actually listen to as well not at exam time as well, I just don't listen to my louder taste in music as much). I personally listen to Rachel Sermanni, Alt-J, Rae Morris, and Ms Mr (they have been super favourites of mine for ages except from Alt-J which is a more recent discovery for me). Also music has been proven to help with anxiety (take that teachers criticising me for wearing headphones while we had study periods in class).

Scrapbooking/general crafts

Okay, so I know this is more of a niche thing as not everybody is into arts and crafts but I have found it is really helpful of making me feel better! As yes, I may procrastinate A LOT, but when I procrastinate via any form of arts and crafts I feel like I'm actually achieving something...that was not meant to depressing. Recently I have been working on something which I like to call "My Little Book of Happiness" which yes is the cheesiest thing ever but it works super well!

Hannah Montana lyrics always help
Possibly the most cliché scrapbook page ever
Cats + Quotes = yaaay

Watching tv series/movies/youtube

For me, I have to really be watching very light-hearted things for me to find it calming in the slightest. Although I do have a strong love for creepiness (not horror, creepiness, there is a big difference) and fact-filled things, it really does not suite me -mood wise- to be honest, as I find when I am under a lot of stress everything effects my mood. Hence my constant HSM watching. I mean, light-hearted literally means free from anxiety!

Troy was such an amazingly over-dramatic character, source tumblr

Okay, that's it from me! I wish the best of luck to all of you dealing with the horror that is exams and I hope you found this post helpful! Please feel free to comment any tips you have to deal with stress, I am always up to try new things!

Creating a space between us, 'til we're seperate hearts

Hello there, yes I know this post is super similar to the last but I'm becoming really into just general creepy things since finishing the first season of American Horror Story (which by the way I totally love). And on the subject of this post I recently bought these tartan shorts and kinda fell in love with them. I have a thing against shorts as they tend to just not be as comfortable as skirts (hence why I always wear skirts) and too often are designed to not even cover the bum (I'm talking to you overly keen hotpants sellers) but Beyond Retro have a great selection of unique vintage shorts so I got myself a few pairs for this summer! Oh, yes as you may have guessed (or not) from the title I have been watching High School Musical as well, one of the best ways (in my opinion) to have a break of exam stresses!

Take a sad song and make it better

Hey all! I feel like I haven't made a post in ages! I was going to post on my trip to the lake district before but it was taking too long and I would have had to make so many posts and I just didn't feel as if I like them in the first place, however the photos are going on my instagram (@beckyzinger, I hate self promoting but if any of you enjoy what I post then why not?). Today I had nice rest from stress of being a quarter of the way through my exams by enjoying the weather and going to a fantastic Beatles tribute. The tribute was in the Kings Theatre which just by being in made me super excited as I'm seeing Wicked there in just 2 weeks (at which point I will have only have my art exam left, woop).
